Men's Soccer Shutout by Beacons
BOSTON, MA: Fitchburg State men's soccer was defeated by UMass Boston in non-conference action this afternoon.
THE BASICS:
- Date: 10/29/24
- Score: UMass Boston (UMB) 4, Fitchburg 0
- Records: UMB (9-1-5), Fitchburg (8-7-2)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Beacons would find the back of the net in the 11th minute of the contest. Elijah Elliot got the scoring going on a successful penalty kick.
- The Falcons defense would take UMass into the break with the 1-0 deficit. Malcolm Edwards (Salem, MA) played a solid 45 minutes in net for Fitchburg with just the one blemish.
- The second half was where UMB would hit their offensive stride while putting up three goals in a ten-minute span. Logan Erickson would start the second half scoring in the 76th minute with his fifth goal of the season. Two minutes later, Josh DeAlmeida found his fourth goal of the season, making it a 3-0 contest. The final goal of the game would come from Amir Lahkiky for his second of the season.
- Edwards would get the loss (1-4) after making eight saves and surrendering four goals. Andy Ramirez would get the victory for the Beacons with just two saves on two shots faced.
