Men's Soccer Draws Even with Framingham to Clinch the Three Seed
FRAMINGHAM, MA: Fitchburg State men's soccer was able to clinch the third seed this afternoon after finishing the regular season in a draw with Framingham State.
THE BASICS:
- Date: 11/2/24
- Score: Fitchburg 2, Framingham 2
- Records: Fitchburg (8-7-3, 3-2-2 MASCAC), Framingham (1-13-3, 1-5-1 MASCAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Rams got on the board first in the 24th minute. John Holt found the back of the net to go up 1-0. Framingham would take that lead into the break.
- Fitchburg's Zachariah Foster (Brockton, MA) would knot the game up at 1-1 on his first of two PKs on the day.
- Framingham would, however, go back on top in the 86th minute on a goal from Abdellah Eddahbi. The Falcons would again be awarded another PK just eight seconds later. Still in the 86th minute, Foster would strike again, bringing the game to a close at 2-2.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Alexander Carvalho (N. Providence, RI) saw 8 shots on goal. He made 6 saves and surrendered 2 goals.
- Timothy Singleton faced 11 shots on net, saving 9 and surrendering 2 goals.
- Shots: Fitchburg 23, Framingham 17
