Football Duo Earn MASCAC All-Conference Accolades

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Defensive Player of the Year as well as named to the MASCAC All-Conference First Team, while classmate Elijah Zaire McKnight (Tracy, CA) earned MASCAC All-Conference Second Team honors as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.

Monette selected MASCAC Football Defensive Player of the Year

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Defensive Player of the Year as well as named to the MASCAC All-Conference First Team, while classmate Elijah Zaire McKnight (Tracy, CA) earned MASCAC All-Conference Second Team honors as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.

Monette earned his second First Team All-Conference honors after posting a team-leading 70 tackles on 33 solo stops and 37 assisted tackles as well as 6.5 sacks, 13.5 tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and one blocked kick,

Zaire McKnight notched his first All-Conference selection after collecting 51 tackles on 35 solo stops and 16 assisted tackles in addition to 2.5 tackles for loss, a team-leading three interceptions, nine passes defended and one blocked kick as well as returning 14 punts for 129 yards and one score.
