HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Falcons struck first quickly into the first half. In the 5th minute, Ajani Guzman (Leominster, MA) broke free down the right side of the field. He was fed by teammate Michael Vazquez (Worcester, MA), who had a perfect through ball from midfield. Guzman would gather the pass and run with the Owls defender to find the far post. The shot would rebound off the post and in.
- The Falcons would extend the lead just before the half in the 39th minute. Justin Job (Worcester, MA) would take a great touch from teammate Nathan Youngquest (Lowell, MA) 30 yards down the field to then make a quick right-to-left move on the Owl's defender and finish in the bottom right of the net. Fitchburg would take a 2-0 lead into the break.
- The Falcons would add to their lead in the 63rd minute on a give-and-go by Julian Correa-Estrada (Nashua, NH) and Anthony Oliveira-Dalicandro (Waltham, MA) to find Job for his second goal of the game and his fifth on the season.
- Westfield would break onto the scoreboard in the 76th minute on an unassisted goal by Cooper Garbiel-Achorn.
