Guevara Mateo named MASCAC Runner & Rookie of the Year

Westfield, MA – The Fitchburg State University men's cross-country team finished third overall at the 2025 MASCAC Men's Cross Country Championship Meet with a total of 66 points at Stanley Park, hosted by Westfield State this morning.

How It Happened

Freshman Paulino Guevara Mateo (Cambridge, MA) led the way for the Green and Gold taking top honors with a time of 25:06.73 over the 8K course, while junior Samuel Edwards (Townsend, MA) followed in fifth place with a time of 26:28.96.

Senior Micheal Burns (Worcester, MA) was next to enter the chute for the Falcons with an 11th place time of 27:14.60, while junior Joshua Lancaster (Holden, MA) was next after posting a 17th place time of 28:29.77.

Rounding out the top finishers for the Green and Gold were senior Brady Madigan (Ayer, MA) (36th), junior Lemuel Del Valle (Lawrence, MA) (39th) and senior Omar Elmi (Worcester, MA) (41st) with times of 30:32.05, 30:46.73 and 31:03.68 respectively.
