Stuttgart, Germany native earns fifth weekly accolade of the season

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman forward Lena Kassel (Stuttgart, Germany) was recently named Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The first-year Falcon picks up her fifth weekly honor of the year after posting 14 points on seven goals scored in an 8-0 triumph over the Corsairs of UMass Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon. With her seven goals and 14 points on the afternoon. Kassel broke Fitchburg State's program record of goals and points in a season as well as the Falcons program record for goals in a game.

The Fitchburg State field hockey team (9-6, 7-3 LEC) returns to action on Tuesday as they host the Wolves of Western Connecticut State for a conference tilt, starting at 6:00 PM.
