Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University Field Hockey team suffered a tough 2-0 setback to the Rams of Framingham State this evening in Little East Conference (LEC) action from the Maple Street Field.

How It Happened

Framingham State opened the scoring at the 23:03 mark with freshman Natalia Roehr (Acton, Mass.) collecting a feed from senior Corlene Guenard (Acton, Mass.) and deposited a shot inside the near post for her fifth tally on the season for the 1-0 edge.

Following the break, Fitchburg State threatened in the 38th minute of action as senior Sarah Craig (Ashburnham, Mass.) fired back-to-back shots on frame, but Rams keeper Kaitlin Loughlin (Ashland, Mass.) turned aside both shot to preserve the 1-0 edge.

The hosts secured the victory at the 51:49 mark when Guenard struck for her team-leading 14th goal on the year off an assist from sophomore Abby Clark (Uxbridge, Mass.), resulting in the 2-0 final.

This evening's contest marked the 42nd meeting between the two squads in the sport of field hockey with the Falcons 23-16-3 all-time when taking on the Rams
