Field Hockey Duo Collect MASCAC Weekly Accolades
Gallo Senka nets Rookie of the Week honors; Morse selected Defensive Player of the Week
Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman Eliza Gallo Senka (Fitchburg, MA) and senior Jenna Morse (Leominster, MA) were recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Field Hockey Rookie of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week respectively as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Gallo Senka notched her first weekly honor on the season after posting three points on one goal and one assist, including her first collegiate tally in the Falcons 4-3, overtime setback to Simmons University on Wednesday.
Morse also collected her first weekly accolade of the 2024 campaign after totaling 22 saves with a 0.78 goals against average and a save percentage of 95.7 percent in the Green and Gold's 4-3 double overtime setback to Clark University on Saturday.
The Fitchburg State field hockey team (0-3, 0-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Tuesday as they host Pilgrims of New England College for a non-conference tilt, starting at 4:00PM.
