Field Hockey Stumbles to New England College
FITCHBURG, MA: Fitchburg field hockey fell to non-conference opponent New England College (NEC) this afternoon.
THE BASICS:

- Records: NEC (4-0), Fitchburg (0-4)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Pilgrims netted the only goal in the first half. At 7:16 into the contest, Kylee Henriquez grabbed a rebounded shot after Jenna Morse (Leominster, MA) made her first save of the game. Henriquez would sneak the ball just inside the left post, giving her team the 1-0 lead going into the break.
- New England would tack on another in the 34th minute, coming off another Morse save. Meaghan McCamish was in the right place at the right time, finding a kick save just off the ground and redirecting it over the head of Morse and into the net.
- The Falcons would get one back in the 50th minute on a tap-in by Sophia Yates (Woodstock, VT) from teammate Autumn Tibbetts (Lunenburg, MA). That would be the game's final goal to get the final of 2-1.
- Makenzie Anderson got the win (4-0) in net for the Pilgrims after making six saves. Morse would get the loss (0-2) after having a solid game in net, making 14 saves.
