Field Hockey Flies Past Vikings
Tibbetts registers four points for Green and Gold
Salem, Mass. – The Fitchburg State field hockey team collected a 4-0 triumph over the Vikings of Salem State this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action from Alumni Field.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State opened the scoring just 57 seconds into the contest as junior Sophia Yates (Woodstock, VT) collected a feed from classmate Autumn Tibbetts (Lunenburg, MA) and deposited a shot into the left side of the cage for her sixth tally on the season for the 1-0 edge.
The Falcons doubled the advantage at the 12:04 mark when junior Alexis Raymond (Tewksbury, MA) received a pass from Tibbetts and found the back of the cage for her first tally of the 2024 campaign to make the score 2-0.
The Green and Gold upped the lead to 3-0 just before the half with freshman Samantha Jones (Uxbridge, MA) firing a shot into the lower left corner for her fifth tally on the year.
Following the intermission, Fitchburg State capped the scoring in the 48th minute of action when Tibbetts gathered a pass from Jones and tucked the ball inside the near post for her third goal of the season, resulting in the 4-0 final.
