MASCAC Women’s Indoor Track Pre-Season Poll Announced
Falcons slated to finish third with a total of four points
FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's indoor track and field team was recently selected third in the 2023-24 MASCAC Pre-Season Coaches Poll as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon.
The Bears of Bridgewater State were selected as the pre-season favorite to win the 2023-24 MASCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field title after receiving three first place votes to amass a total of nine points to edge out second place Westfield State's total of seven points, which included the final first place ballot.
Following in the third spot was Fitchburg State with a total of four points, while the Lancers of Worcester State tied for third with four points as well to round out the 2023-24 MASCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Preseason Poll.
The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013-14.
