Boston, MA. – The Fitchburg State University women's indoor track & field team competed at the 2023 Joe Donahue Games, hosted by Northeastern University at the Track at New Balance this afternoon.

How It Happened

Senior Makany Camara (Lowell, MA) paced the Green and Gold, placing second overall in the high jump with a DIII New England qualifying mark of 1.60 meters, while adding a fourth place, DIII NE qualifying time of 9.47 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles.

In the 60 meter, sophomore Shamya Boulware McKnight (Hartford, Conn.) (23rd) and senior Olivia Kephart (Rutland, MA) (26th) posted times of 9.44 seconds and 11.42 seconds, while newcomer Alexis Toste (Dracut, MA) (11.18), senior Erin Donelan (Fitchburg, MA) (11.35) and sophomore Aria DiCato (Fitchburg, MA) (11.76) finished 13th, 14th and 15th respectively in the 60 meter hurdles.

Sophomore Skye Goba (Norton, MA), Toste, and senior Stephanie Piar (Shrewsbury, MA) finished eighth, 12th and 14th in the mile with times of 5:35.32, 6:29.14 and 7:35.22, while sophomore Alanis Velez (Lowell, MA) (31.15), Boulware McKnight (31.52) and DiCato (33.77) finished 18th, 19th and 2oth in the 200 meter.

In the 800 meter, sophomore Cassandra Israelson (Saugus, MA) (3rd) and Piar (4th) turned in times of 3:20.15 and 3:28.00, while the 4x400 meter relay team of Bouleare McKnight, Toste, DiCato and Goba placed fourth overall with a time of 4:55.40.

In the field, Kephart (12th) and Israelson (13th) posted tosses of 8.16m and 8.12m in the shot put, while Kephart (10.86M) and Israelson (7.31M) finished eighth and tenth respectively in the weight throw.

In the triple jump, Donelan (8th), Toste (9th) and DiCato (10th) notched marks of 8.43m, 8.05m and 7.75m, while Velez rounded out the top Falcons efforts on the day, finishing tenth in the long jump with a mark of 4.04 meters.
