Falcons Excel At DIII New England Championships
Camara qualifies for All-NE's in the high jump and 60 meter hurdles
Boston, MA – The Fitchburg State University women's indoor track & field placed 23rd with a total of six points at the 2024 DIII New England Championships, hosted by Tufts University at the New Balance Track today.

How It Happened
Senior Makany Camara (Lowell, MA) paced the Falcons, finishing third overall in high jump with an All-New England qualifying mark of 1.66 meters, while adding a tenth place, All-NE qualifying time of 9.17 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles.
Junior Ephemian Bailey (Maple Grove, MN) finished 20th in the shot put with a toss of 10.90 meters, while the 4x200 meter relay team of sophomores Shamya Boulware McKnight (Hartford, CT), Trishannah Scott (Leominster, MA) and Alanis Velez (Lowell, MA) as well as Camara turned in a 21st place time of 1:57.29.
