Women's Lacrosse Opens the 2024 Season by Taking Down Lasell
NEWTON, MA: Fitchburg State women's lacrosse opened the 2024 campaign with a victory this evening against Lasell University in non-conference action.
THE BASICS:

- Score: Fitchburg 13, Lasell 9
- Records: Fitchburg (1-0), Lasell (1-1)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After Lasell got on the board first, the Falcons would score three unanswered goals, giving them a 3-1 advantage going into the second quarter. Lasell would keep in close going into the half after tallying three goals to Fitchburg's three.
- The Lasers closed the gap in the third quarter, tying the game up at eight with 3:19 left. Fitchburg would use the fourth to put Lasell away with a five-goal quarter to their two.
- Jessica St. George (Dracut, MA) and Nicole Orlowski (Ellington, CT) led the way for the Falcons, combining for eight goals with four each. Caitlin Persson (Worcester, MA) got the win in net after making eight saves.
- Lasell also had a pair score four goals each in Teresa Kessner and Kaitlin Bedell. The other lone goal was from Emily Watson. Joy Sayah was tagged with the loss in net for the Lasers. She made eight saves on 21 shots faced.
