FITCHBURG, MA: Fitchburg State women's lacrosse fell to Colby-Sawyer in non-conference action this evening.

THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Falcons quickly jumped to a 3-0 lead through the first quarter. Jessica St. George (Dracut, MA) netted two of the three, with Autumn Tibbetts (Lunenburg, MA) getting the other. Fitchburg would add one more at the start of the second quarter by Delaney Ponder (E. Bridgewater, MA) off of a free position shot. The Chargers would use the rest of the second to shrink the Flacons lead to just one with three consecutive goals. Elena Bronson netted two for Colby-Sawyer, and Olivia Romo scored the other.

- The Chargers continued at the start of the second half, scoring another three unanswered goals, giving them their first lead of the game 6-4. Heather Hanson highlighted the third quarter with two goals for Colby-Sawyer. The Falcons would net one more to cut the deficit to just one on a free position goal by Nicole Orlowski (Ellington, CT). The Chargers would end the third with one more, making it 7-5 going into the fourth. The fourth saw three more Colby-Sawyer goals to Fitchburg's one. Hanson continued to score for the Chargers, netting another two, with Soph Kuhlthau getting the last while being a man down. The Falcons lone goal was scored by Orlowski on another free position.

- Caitlin Persson (Worcester, MA) (L, 2-1) was tagged with the loss after making 14 saves and allowing 10 goals. AJ Paton (W, 3-1) got the win after making seven saves and allowing six goals.
