Billerica, Mass. native notches third weekly accolade of the year

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman outside hitter Stephanie Sardella (Billerica, Mass.) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The first-year outside hitter nets her third weekly honor of the season after posting six kills, one service ace, 17 digs and one blocking assist in a 3-0, straight set victory over the Buccaneers of Mass. Maritime Academy on Wednesday evening.

The Fitchburg State women's volleyball team (4-13, 1-5 MASCAC) returns to action on Thursday as they host the Blue Jays of the University of Saint Joseph (CT) in non-conference action, starting at 6:00 PM.
