Baseball Falls Short to Dean
FRANKLIN, MA: The Fitchburg State baseball team fell to the Bulldogs of Dean College this afternoon in non-conference action, 5-4.
THE BASICS:

- Score: Dean 5, Fitchburg 4
- Records: Dean (12-27), Fitchburg (12-19)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Ruairi Rago (Port Jefferson, NY) got the scoring started in the top of the first inning when he flied out to left field for a sacrifice fly. The 1-0 lead didn't last long for the Falcons, with the Bulldogs plating three in the bottom of the third. Luke Fahey highlighted the inning with an RBI double.
- The Falcons would tie the game up in the top of the sixth on a two-run error by Dean's defense. Eric Mccallum (Whitman, MA) would give Fitchburg the lead back in the top of the seventh on an RBI single.
- Dean would come back again and regain the lead on a two-run home run by Nick Amendolara.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Jr Salvadore got the win (1-0) for the Bulldogs after pitching 1 inning with 2 hits allowed, 1 run, and 1 strikeout.
- Jason Bickford (Exeter, NH) suffered the loss (0-4) after going 2 innings with 1 hit and 2 earned runs.
