HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  Westfield opened the game in the bottom of the first inning by plating 11 runs and another seven before the Falcons responded. The 18-0 run by Westfield was highlighted by Dan Burnett, who hit a grand slam in the first inning. Nick Marshall brought in another run on a triple to right center in the fourth inning. Justin Neidel would bring in the 17th run of the game on a double to left center.

- The Falcons would get on the board in the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly by Joseph DiCrosta (Wallingford, CT). Followed by a Brady Campbell (Sandwich, MA) single to center that would bring in the final run for Fitchburg, making it an 18-2 game. The game's final run for Westfield would come across on a wild pitch, getting the final of 19-2.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Joseph Hartnett (N. Attleboro, MA) suffered the loss (1-6), after not being able to get out of the first inning and allowing 6 hits, 9 earned runs, 3 walks, and 1 strikeout.

-  Colton Vasseur got the win (2-3) after going 6 innings, allowing just 2 hits, and striking out 4.

-  Burnett and Devin Slattery were both 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs.
