Men's Outdoor Track Places 19th At DIII NE Championships
Bourassa sets meet & facility record of 68.99M in the javelin
New Haven, CT. – The Fitchburg State University Men's Outdoor Track & Field team finished 19th overall at the 2025 DIII New England Championships with a total of 19 points this weekend, hosted by Coast Guard Academy.

Junior Liam Bourassa (Shirley, MA) led the way for the Green and Gold, finishing first in javelin with an All-New England qualifying throw of 68.99 meters (PR). With that throw, Bourassa set new meet and facility record, while placing seventh in the hammer throw, 11th in the discus and fourth in the shot put with throws of 50.02 meters, 43.09 meters, and 14.65 meters, while senior Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) placed tenth overall in the hammer throw with a toss of 48.65 meters.
The 4x100 meter relay team of sophomore Alvaro Castillo-Clottier Jr (Palmer, MA), classmate Derrick Tawiah (Worcester, MA), sophomore Jesse Moriello (Saugus, MA) and classmate Keenan Ansah (Plymouth, MA) turned in a 22nd place time of 44.47 seconds, while in the 400 meter, Ansah finished 23rd overall with a time of 50.51 seconds.
The 4x800 meter relay team of freshman Brendan Guenard (Andover, MA). Sophomore Samuel Edwards (Townsend, MA), senior Joshua Lancaster (Holden, MA) and senior Joshua Leaffer (North Andover, MA) finished 21st overall with a time of 8:37.35, while the 4x400 meter relay team of Clottier, Moriello, sophomore Matth Telson (Everett, MA) and junior Brady Madigan (Ayer, MA) turned in a 22nd place time of 3:34.31.
In the field, sophomore Colin Anderson (South Weymouth, MA) finished 18th in the javelin with a toss of 52.50 meters, while Ansah posted a 22nd place effort of 6.39 meters in the long jump.
In the triple jump, sophomore Tyler Kwamo (Auburn, MA)) finished 23rd overall with a mark of 12.76 meters.
