Football Bested by Bridgewater

FITCHBURG, MA: The Fitchburg State football team fell to the Bears of Bridgewater State in MASCAC action this afternoon, 38-18.

FITCHBURG, MA: The Fitchburg State football team fell to the Bears of Bridgewater State in MASCAC action this afternoon, 38-18.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 11/1/25

- Score: Bridgewater 38, Fitchburg 18

- Records: Bridgewater (4-4, 4-3 MASCAC), Fitchburg (3-5, 2-5 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  After a scoreless first quarter, the Bears would score in back-to-back drives to get the halftime score of 14-0. The first touchdown was a one-yard rush by Andrew Cloutman. They would score their final touchdown of the half with 5:38 left on the clock. This time, it was a rush by Isaiah Wright from nine yards out.

- Bridgewater would open the second half with the only TD in the third quarter on a three-yard scamper by Cloutman.

- The 21-0 game featured a very productive fourth quarter on both sides. Bridgewater started it off with a 32-yard field goal by Joey Naso and a 12-yard run from Sean Brown, making it 31-0. The Falcons finally broke the shutout with 7:09 left in the fourth quarter, scoring their first touchdown from Rocky Marchitelli (Gunnison, CO) to Peter Norton (Marblehead, MA) on a seven-yard pass. The Bears responded with another rushing touchdown, this time by Makhial Coulanges-Blaise, who broke free for a 16-yard rushing TD.

- The 38-6 game ended 38-18, with two Fitchburg touchdowns in the final moments. Emilio Cabey (Boston, MA) caught another pass from Marchitelli for a 26-yard touchdown. The last Falcons score came when Marchitelli rushed from two yards out.

- Defensively for the Falcons, Camren Topkin (New London, CT) had 13 tackles, marking a game-high. Jan Valls (Worcester, MA) had three tackles but had another interception and a forced fumble. Elijah Neal had a solid day for the Bears with five tackles and two interceptions.
