Women’s Soccer Falls Short to Lancers
FITCHBURG, MA: The Fitchburg State women's soccer team lost to the Lancers of Worcester State in its MASCAC opener, 1-0, this afternoon.
THE BASICS:

- Records: Worcester (3-0, 1-0 MASCAC), Fitchburg (1-2, 0-1 MASCAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After another scoreless first half by Madison Dawkins (Haverhill, MA) in net for the Falcons, the two teams remained tied going into the break. Dawkins made seven saves for Fitchburg.
- The only goal of the game came off the foot of Emma Jacob after teammate Ella Tatarczuk found her open for the score in the 75th minute. Lancer goalkeeper Ella Gumienny earned the win (3-0) after facing only three shots on goal and saving all of them.
- Mia Herron (Mendon, MA) was in goal during the second half and took the loss (0-2) after giving up a goal and making three saves.
