Bourassa Tabbed MASCAC Field Athlete Of The Week
Shirley, Mass. native notched second weekly accolade on the season
Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State Men's Outdoor Track & Field junior Liam Bourassa (Shirley, MA) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Bourassa collected his second weekly accolade of the season after taking top honors in the javelin with an All-New England qualifying toss of 68.99 meters to set a meet and facility record in the javelin, while finishing seventh in hammer throw (50.02M), 11th in the discus (43.09M) and fourth in the shot put (14.65M) for the Falcons at the 2025 DIII New England Championships over the weekend. With his throw in the javelin, Liam currently ranks first nationally in the event
The Fitchburg State Men's Outdoor Track & Field team returns to action on Friday and Saturday select members compete at the 2025 All-New England Championships, hosted by UMass Amherst.
