Westfield, MA. – The Fitchburg State field hockey team dropped a 2-1 decision to the Owls of Westfield State this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action from Alumni Field.

How It Happened
Westfield State opened the scoring at the 28:48 mark as junior Ashley D'Elia (Watertown, CT) received a feed from senior Sadie Stauffer (Suffield, CT) and fired a shot into the back of the cage for her tenth goal on the year for 1-0 edge going into the break.
Following the intermission, the Owls doubled their advantage in the 32nd minute when freshman Caroline Andrade (Watertown, MA) notched her team leading 12th score on the season to make the score 2-0.
Fitchburg State cut the deficit to 2-1 37:37 mark with senior Samantha Yates (Woodstock, VT) converting a penalty stroke for her fourth score of the 2025-26 campaign.
