As part of the Communication Law and Ethics course—and open to all—York University Professor Dr. Robert Gehl will discuss how decentralized platforms like the Fediverse offer possibilities for building better, more democratic social media. The lecture will draw on his research into alternative networks and digital culture and his recent book, Move Slowly and Build Bridges: Mastodon, the Fediverse, and the Struggle for Democratic Social Media.
