Field Hockey Bested by Cougars
FITCHBURG, MA: The Fitchburg State field hockey team lost to non-conference opponent Clark University this afternoon with a score of 2-1.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Cougars got on the board near the end of the first quarter at 13:46. Elizabeth Cacciapaglia put Clark in the lead off a penalty corner. Alison Kopec collected the initial pass and found Cacciapaglia to her left, open for the score.
- The Falcons knotted the game at 1-1 four minutes into the second half. Sophia Yates (Woodstock, VT) assisted Olivia Narkevicius (Phillipston, MA) in front of the net for the deflection and score.
- The game remained tied until the fourth quarter, 47:39 into the game, when Clark regained the lead on a Katelyn Towne game-winning goal. Towne made a couple of moves on Falcon defenders to get into the circle before shooting.
- Loren Root remains undefeated this season with a 3-0 record after just two shots on goal and one save. Isabella Corcoran (Braintree, MA) had another excellent game in net, with several standout saves. Overall, she made nine saves for the Falcons in the loss, dropping her season record to 2-1.
