Women’s Soccer Edged by Rams

FRAMINGHAM, MA: The Fitchburg State women’s soccer team suffered a MASCAC loss to the Rams of Framingham State this afternoon, 2-1.

FRAMINGHAM, MA: The Fitchburg State women's soccer team suffered a MASCAC loss to the Rams of Framingham State this afternoon, 2-1.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 9/20/25

- Score: Framingham 2, Fitchburg 1

- Records: Framingham (2-4-1, 1-2 MASCAC), Fitchburg (1-6, 0-3 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The Rams first got on the board in the 25th minute of the match. Hailey Ring scored the opening goal, giving the hosting school a 1-0 lead. However, the Falcons responded just before halftime, in the 43rd minute. Noelle Kennedy (W. Roxbury, MA) gathered a long cross from Autumn Dwyer (Billerica, MA) on the back post for a tap-in score.

- The 1-1 tie was broken in the 59th minute of the second half by Leiyani Buckner from the Rams. Her unassisted goal is recorded as the game-winner, with Framingham keeping the Falcons scoreless for the rest of the game.  

- Amelia Finley earned the win (2-4-1) in net for the Rams, making five saves on six shots. Mia Herron (Mendon, MA) took the loss (0-5) after playing the last 45 minutes, facing five shots and making four saves.
