Field Hockey Flies Past Framingham

FRAMINGHAM, MA: The Fitchburg State field hockey team bested the Rams of Framingham State this afternoon in MASCAC action, 7-1.

FRAMINGHAM, MA: The Fitchburg State field hockey team bested the Rams of Framingham State this afternoon in MASCAC action, 7-1.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 9/20/25

- Score: Fitchburg 7, Framingham 1

- Records: Fitchburg (4-3, 1-1 MASCAC), Framingham (1-6, 0-2 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The Falcons started the game with three goals in the first quarter. Samantha Jones (Uxbridge, MA) scored off a deflection from Samantha Yates (Woodstock, VT), who was sending the ball into the circle after a penalty corner. Yates then earned a stroke in the 4th minute to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead. Sophia Yates (Woodstock, VT) followed up by sneaking to the right of the cage for Olivia Narkevicius (Phillipston, MA) to find her for a goal. The half ended with Fitchburg scoring once more. Madison Butler (Carver, MA) was set up on the back post to the left by Sophia Yates, who was driving toward the cage. Fitchburg took a 4-0 lead into halftime.

- The second half continued with the Falcons finding ways to score. Narkevicius found the back of the net this time from Jones. The 5-0 lead for Fitchburg held until the fourth quarter, in the 50th minute of the game, when Sophia Yates scored her second goal of the game. The Rams responded, ending the shutout in the 52nd minute with an unassisted goal by Chloe Moynihan. The game concluded with the Falcons scoring one more in the 55th minute on an unassisted goal by Butler for her second.

- Isabella Corcoran (Braintree, MA) got the win (4-3) for the Falcons after making one save on one shot faced. Kaitlyn Tello suffered the loss (1-4) after making three saves on ten shots faced in net.
