How It Happened

The Lancers got off to a hot start, putting up four straight three-pointers to take an early 12-0 lead. The Falcons notched six consecutive points from Dayne Allen (Revere, Mass.) and a jumper from

Matthew Tanis (Hialeah, Fla) to cut the deficit to 14-8. Eric Bjorn (Holden, Mass.)  pushed the score to 23-13 midway through the first frame.

Trailing 38-19, the Green and Gold closed out the first half with five points from Tanis and a trey from Frederic Siayor (Worcester, Mass.). Worcester State extended the lead (54-34) in the second half with a 9-4 run. Tanis had a solid second half with twelve points for the Falcons, however, Worcester State pulled away (72-55) with buckets from Brandon Goris (Bronx, NY) and Aaron Nkrumah (Worcester, Mass.).

Fitchburg State finished with baskets from Aidan Finn (Harwich, Mass.) and Joshua Okoroji-Schaeffer (Chesapeake Beach, MD.)  resulting in the final (87-63)
