MASCAC WXC All-Conference Team Announced

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior Abigail Murphy (Quincy, Mass.) and classmate Lilah McAndrew (Old Lyme, Conn.) were named to the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Cross Country All-Conference team as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

Murphy earns MASCAC WXC Runner of the Year

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior Abigail Murphy (Quincy, Mass.) and classmate Lilah McAndrew (Old Lyme, Conn.) were named to the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country All-Conference team as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

Murphy led the way for the Green and Gold, collecting 2022 MASCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year honors after placing first overall at the 2022 MASCAC WXC Championships on Saturday with a personal best time of 19:16 over the 5K layout.

Murphy earned the Falcons first Runner of the Year honors since the 2000 season.

Freshmen Nicole Major of Bridgewater State and Shea Hamel of Westfield State were selected MASCAC Co-Rookies of the Year, while Marlee Berg of Westfield was named the 2022 MASCAC WXC BSN Sports Coach of the Year.

Joining Murphy, McAndrew, Major and Hamel on the MASCAC All-Conference team, were Maura Bruns of Bridgewater State, Emily Newcomb from Framingham State and Teale Chandonnet, Julianne Kelly, Ariann Lecours  and Mia McDonald of Westfield State.
