How It Happened

Trailing 2-0, the Falcons reeled off three straight goals. Senior Eva Kozikowski (Portsmouth, NH) sandwiched two goals around a tally from Cali Laakso (Fitchburg, Mass.) to take a 3-2 lead.

Clark tied the match (3-3) with a score from Meghan Fogarty (Melrose, Mass.) before the Falcons' forged ahead 4-3 with just seven ticks on the clock and a goal from Delaney Ponder (East Bridgewater, Mass.),

Knotted again at 4-4 the Green and Gold notched back-to-back scores from Jessica St. George (Dracut, Mass.) and Nicole Orlowski (Ellington, Conn.) to retake the lead 6-4.

The Cougars made it a one-goal game (7-6) with the 14th goal of the season from Sophie Didier (Overland Park, Kans.), but the Falcons countered with a goal from Sophia Yates (Woodstock, Vt.).

With 6:51 to play in the third frame, Clark added a goal from Elizabeth Liakos (Arlington, Mass.), and twenty seconds later Didier added her second of the game to tie the game (8-8).

Fitchburg State scored four of the next five goals, including a hat trick from Kozikowski to up their advantage to 12-9.

Clark scored two goals late in the fourth quarter and hit the post as time expired but the Falcons held on for the win.
