Falcons Name Trio To MASCAC Baseball All-Conference Teams

Eramo, Pare & Hurrell collect MASCAC honors

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State baseball team named three members to the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Conference Teams as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Vincent Eramo (Shirley, Mass.) and graduate student Lowell Pare (Leominster, Mass.) were selected to the MASCAC All-Conference First Team, while sophomore Jacob Hurrell (Haverhill, Mass.) earned MASCAC All-Conference Second Team honors.

Eramo picks up his third MASCAC All-Conference honor after posting a .395 batting average with 58 hits, 11 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, 37 runs scored, 55 RBI, 18 walks and 13 stolen bases, while setting the Falcons' single season records for RBI, home runs and total bases as well setting the program record for career home runs (22) and total bases (280).

Pare collects his first MASCAC All-Conference nod after registering an Era of 3.88 with an overall record of 9-2 with two saves and 59 strikeouts over 51 innings of work, while setting the Falcons' single season record for wins in a season (9) and games pitched (23).

Joining Eramo and Pare on the 2023 MASCAC All-Conference First Team were Scott Emerson, Jay Wladkowski and Matt Joseleyn from Bridgewater State, Ryan Boyle and Caleb Hendrix of Framingham State, Nick Marshall, Dan Burnett and Ryan Lapierre from Westfield State, Brahiam Ortega of Salem State and from MCLA, Austin Rachiele and Randy Adams.

On the second team, Hurrell notched his first All-Conference accolade, batting .362 with 47 hits, nine doubles, four triples, six home runs, 31 runs scored, 23 RBI, 15 walks and a team-leading 18 stolen bases.

In addition to Hurrell, the MASCAC All-Conference Second Team was comprised of Kevin Lindsay, Mathew Pigeon and Matthew Seavey from Bridgewater State, Jake Boucher of Salem State, Steven Burbank, Anthony Panza and Robert Johnston from Framingham State, AJ Pietrafesa, Brett Velzis and John Tropea of Mass. Maritime, Ethan Day from Westfield State and from Worcester State, Alex Sorenti-Burns and Cole Glassburn.

The Fitchburg State University Baseball team recently concluded its 2023 campaign with an overall record of 19-21 and a 9-12 clip in conference play.
