Softball Named Academic Team Of The Year

Fitchburg, MA: The Fitchburg State Senior Director of Athletics and Recreation Matthew Burke announced today that the Softball team has been named the 2023-24 Fitchburg State University Academic Team of the Year.

The team academic award recognizes the squad with the highest collective grade point average (GPA) over the 2023-24 academic year with the softball squad ranking number one with a team GPA of 3.57 out of the 17 sports sponsored by Fitchburg State University.

Three team members finished with a GPA of 3.8 or higher, while eight student-athletes had over a 3.6 GPA.

The Falcons concluded its 2024-25 campaign with an overall record of 11-26 and a 5-9 mark within conference play, en-route to securing the sixth seed in the 2024 MASCAC Softball Post-Season Tournament.
