Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's soccer team registered a 1-1 draw with the Leopard of Wentworth Institute this evening in non-conference action from Elliot Field.

The Basics

Score: Fitchburg State 1, Wentworth 1

Records: Fitchburg State (1-6-1, 1-0-0 MASCAC) | Wentworth (3-2-4, 0-0-1 CNE)

How It Happened

Fitchburg State threatened in the opening minutes of the first half as junior Adrianna Westcott (Sayreville, NJ) put a shot on frame, but Wentworth keeper Claire Reif (Winter Springs, FL) turned the shot aside.

Wentworth's best scoring opportunity of the first frame occurred midway through the stanza with junior Jordan Dahan (Kennesaw, GA) and senior Jenny Montville (Plainville, MA) firing back-to-back shots on target only to have Falcons goalkeeper Madison Dawkins (Haverhill, MA) deny both chances to keep the contest scoreless going into the break.

Following the intermission, the Falcons broke the 0-0 deadlock at the 52:11 mark when sophomore Noelle Kennedy (Walpole, MA) collected her own rebound in front of the net and deposited a shot into the back of the net for her first marker on the year for the 1-0 margin.

The Leopards leveled the score at 1-1 in the 69th minute of action as sophomore Brianna Reid (Bridgewater, MA) settled a feed from freshman Rachel Hagerty (Ridgefield, WA) and put a shot inside the far post for her first goal of the 2024 campaign.
