Falcons Finish First Overall At Jim Sheehan Memorial Invite

Leominster, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country team opened their 2024 slate this morning, hosting its annual Jim Sheehan Memorial invitational, placing first overall with 15 points at the Doyle Conservation Center.

How It Happened
Junior Skye Goba (Norton, MA) led the way for the Falcons, placing first overall with a time of 21:04 over the 5K course, while sophomore Gwendolyn Connors (Ayer, MA) was next, finishing second with a time of 22:15.
Sophomore Alexis Toste (Dracut, MA)) followed in third place with a solid time of 23:57, while freshman Amanda King (Townsend, MA) crossed the finish line in fifth place with a time of 24:36.
Rounding out the top seven finishers for the Green and Gold were junior Aria DiCato (Fitchburg, MA) (28:06), classmate Julia Arena (Shrewsbury, MA) (28:13) and sophomore Taylor Crout (Boise, ID) (28:49) in ninth, tenth and 11th place respectively.
