Stawski Earns Rookie of the Week Honors

FITCHBURG, MA: The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) released its weekly award winners early this afternoon. Freshman pitcher Joseph Stawski (Niantic, CT) received the nod as the conference's Rookie of the Week.  

Stawski pitched a complete game against the Westfield State Owls last week, giving the Falcons the 3-2 conference win. In the seven-inning outing, he struck out three, allowed just six hits against an impressive Westfield lineup, and held them to just one earned run. This outing marks just one of many for the freshman this season. Stawski leads the team in ERA with a 4.17, wins with three, and complete games with three. 

Fitchburg State baseball will be back on Tuesday, the 30th, at 3:30 PM, when they take on the University of Saint Joseph's.
