Records: Fitchburg State (2-5), Dean (2-2)

How It Happened

The game was tight in the opening seven minutes of the contest, with Dean holding just a 1-point lead (13-12). The Bulldogs then used a 14-3 spurt, capped by a Jayden Madise (Palmdale, Calif.)  jumper, to go on top by a 27-15 score with 6:19 left in the first. The Falcons clawed back to cut the deficit to one, 29-28, thanks to five points apiece from Javon Taylor (Cambridge, Mass) and sophomore Frederic Siayor (Worcester, Mass.) during the rally. A 10-2 run to end the half by the Bulldogs, gave Dean a 39-30 lead at the break. Madise had nine points for Dean, while Taylor scored 10 to lead the Falcons.

Dean took a 15-point lead three minutes into the second when senior Mark Blair (Rosedale, N.Y.) found Madise on the break who threw down a dunk for the 50-35 advantage. Fitchburg State once again showed some fight to pull within six after a Siayor trey at 12:56, but Dean gradually pulled away to eventually take a 20-point lead with less than four minutes left in the game. The Falcons finished strong to cut the deficit, but Dean's big lead was enough to secure the 76-64 victory.
