Cambridge, Mass. native collects first weekly honor of the year

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior Javon Taylor (Cambridge, Mass.) was selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The second-year Falcons notches his first weekly honor on the season after averaging 19.5 points, nine rebounds, one assist and two steals per contest in a 2-0 week for the Green and Gold. Taylor posted 21 points, ten caroms, one assist and three steals in a 69-68 triumph over Eastern Nazarene on Thursday before adding 18 points, eight boards, one assist and one steal in a 76-56 victory against MCLA on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State men's basketball team (6-6, 1-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Wednesday as they travel to Framingham State for a MASCAC clash, starting at 5:30 PM.
