Football Clipped By Lancers In MASCAC Action
Cabey hauls in ten passes for 80 yards and one TD
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State football dropped a 20-14 decision to the Lancers of Worcester State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC ) action this afternoon from Elliot Field.

How It Happened
Worcester State opened the scoring with 11:58 remaining in the first quarter as junior quarterback Cam Ayotte (Millbury, MA) found senior wide receiver Dylan Hall (Plainville, CT) in the back of the endzone from 22 yards out for the 7-0 edge.
Fitchburg State knotted the score at 7-7 with five minutes left in the opening frame when sophomore quarterback Rocky Marchitelli (Gunnison, CO) hit junior wideout Sahir Gomez (Whittier, CA) from eight yards out.
The Falcons grabbed the lead late in the second quarter with sophomore Reshawn Stewart (San Antonio, TX) ran it in from six yards out, capping an 11 play, 73 yard drive to make the score 14-7, going into the break.
Following the intermission, the Lancers leveled the score at 14-14 five minutes into the third quarter when senior Nico Holmes (Mansfield, MA) ran it in from 42-yards out, finishing off a four play, 57 yard drive.
The visitors regained the lead with two minutes remaining in the third quarter with Holmes plunging in from five yards out to make the score 20-14.

- This afternoon's contest marked the 39th meeting between the two teams on the gridiron with the Falcons 9-30 all-time when taking on the Lancers
- Fitchburg State was led by Marchitelli, who finished 16-of-29 with 114 yards and one TD
- Freshman Emilio Cabey (Boston, MA) hauled in ten catches for 80 yards and one score
- Defensively, junior Camren Topkin (Ledyard, CT) finished with a team-best 16 tackles on six solo stops and ten assisted tackles as well as one TFL and a pass break up.
- Worcester State was paced by Holmes with 27 carries for 151 yards and two TD's
- Defensively, senior John McMasters III (Raynham, MA) totaled a game best 16 tackles (8 solo, 8 assisted) in addition to three TFL's and one interception
- Reshawn Stewart registered his first career touchdown run for the Falcons
