Football Pair Collect MASCAC Weekly Honors
Winchendon, MA natives collects first weekly honor on the year
Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman Emilio Cabey (Boston, MA) and senior Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) were recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Rookie of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week respectively as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Cabey notched his first weekly accolade on the season after hauling in five catches for 109 yards and one touchdown, including a 99 yard TD grab in the Falcons 12-0 season opening triumph over Dean College on Saturday.
Monette also earned his first weekly honor of the season after collecting 11 tackles on three solo stops and eight assisted tackles as well as four sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss in the Falcons 12-0, season opening victory over Dean College on Saturday.
The Fitchburg State football team returns to action on Saturday as they host the Corsairs of UMass Dartmouth for a MASCAC tilt, starting at 12:00PM.
