- Records: Maritime (2-3, 2-2 MASCAC), Fitchburg (1-4, 0-4 MASCAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Buccaneers got the game's first points after methodically rushing their way down the field in 13 plays and 59 yards. Quarterback Evan Pierce would plunge it in from just one yard out on a keeper up the gut. The Falcons would get some points on the pursuing drive on a 31-yard field goal by Jonah Costa (E. Providence, RI).
- The Second quarter only saw one score from either team, and it came on a 60-yard interception return by Mass Maritime's Liam Hines. The break saw the Buccaneers leading the Falcons 13-3.
- The second half saw little production by either offense. Mass Maritime would score the only points in the fourth quarter on another one-yard rush by Pierce. He would then throw to Brennan Keefe for a two-point conversion, getting the final of 21-3.
- Defensive leaders on the day came from the Falcons. Dexter Brown (Peabody, MA) led the way with 14 tackles. Sebastian Burmester (Germantown, NY), Jacob Lanpher (Hagerstown, MD), and Emmanuel Cano (Lowell, MA) all contributed 11 tackles each. Burmester also added a big interception in the red zone to stop the Buccaneers drive short. Jackson Mahoney topped Maritime in tackles with seven and three for a loss. Hines had one tackle but had the big 60-yard TD interception.
