Ice Hockey Falls to Westfield in Suspended Game
WESTFIELD, MA: In a game that only saw two periods due to a Zamboni door malfunction, the Fitchburg State ice hockey team suffered a loss to the Owls of Westfield State in MASCAC action.

- Score: Westfield 3, Fitchburg 2
- Records: Westfield (12-12, 8-9 MASCAC), Fitchburg (12-12-1, 8-9-1 MASCAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Falcons came out in the first, building a 2-0 lead within the first 13 minutes of the contest. Marcus Macchioni (N Kingstown, RI) and Nicklas Millhorn (Brownstown, MI) netted the goals for the Falcons. Macchioni found the back of the net in the 6th minute, with Millhorn scoring in the 12th minute. Westfield would get one back before the first period came to a close in the 16th minute. Jesper Seeberg was credited with the goal, putting the score at 2-1 in favor of the Falcons.
- The second period saw the Owls tie the game 2:50 in on a power play goal by Cooper Board. The ultimate game-winning goal would come just under four minutes later by Nicolas Coppola at 6:14 into the second period. Esteban Gauthier would keep Fitchburg from scoring again and getting the win for the Owls.
- Lending the helping hand for the Falcons on the two goals were Christian Halbig (Queenstown, MD), Alexandre Bauvais (Meudon, France), Jeremy Maillet (Leominster, MA), and Samuel Rennick (Salisbury, MA).

- Esteban Gauthier (W, 4-1) made 20 saves in 40 minutes of play.
- Max Macchioni (N. Kingstown, RI) (L, 2-3) saw 23 shots, making 20 saves.
- Power Play: Westfield was 1-for-1, Fitchburg was 0-for-2.
