Ice Hockey Pair Collect MASCAC Weekly Honors

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore Alexandre Bauvais (Meudon, France) and freshman Marcus Macchioni (North Kingstown, RI) were tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Bauvais selected Offensive Player of the Week; Macchioni named Rookie of the Week

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore Alexandre Bauvais (Meudon, France) and freshman Marcus Macchioni (North Kingstown, RI) were tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Bauvais earned his first weekly honor of the season after posting four points on three goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for the Falcons. Netted a pair of markers in a 4-1 win over the Lancers of Worcester State on Thursday before adding one goal and one assist in a 4-3, triple overtime victory against the Vikings of Salem State on Saturday.

Macchioni also picked up his first weekly accolade on the year after totaling two points with two assists in a 4-1 triumph over the fifth seeded Lancers of Worcester State in quarterfinal round action on Thursday.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (14-12-1, 8-9-1 MASCAC) returns to action on Saturday as they host the eighth seeded Trailblazers of MCLA in the 2024-25 MASCAC Ice Hockey Championship game, starting at 4:00PM.
