Ice Hockey Trio Sweeps MASCAC Weekly Honors
Dunn, Max Macchioni & Marcus Macchioni receive conference weekly accolades
Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore Hunter Dunn (Douglas, MA), junior Max Macchioni (North Kingstown, RI) and freshman Marcus Macchioni (North Kingstown, RI) were tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Player of the Week, Goaltender of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Dunn earned his first weekly honor of the season after totaling three points on two goals and one helper in the Falcons' 3-1 victory over the Trailblazers of MCLA in the 2025 MASCAC Ice Hockey Championship game on Saturday to earn Tournament MVP Honors.
Mx. Macchioni notched his second weekly accolade o the year after posting 28 saves with a 1.00 goals against average and a save percentage of .966 in the Falcons' 3-1 triumph against the Trailblazers of MCLA in the 2025 MASCAC Championships Game on Saturday.
Ma. Macchioni registered his second weekly honor of the 2024-25 campaign after collecting one assist in the Falcons' 3-1 victory over the Trailblazers of MCLA in the 2025 MASCAC Championship Game on Saturday.
The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (15-12-1, 8-9-1 MASCAC) returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Utica College to take on the Pioneers in the opening round of the 2025 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament, starting at 1:00PM.
