Hockey Falls in Overtime to Panthers

THE BASICS:

- Date: 1/11/25

- Score: Plymouth 3, Fitchburg 2

- Records: Plymouth (10-4, 7-0 MASCAC), Fitchburg (7-5, 4-2 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Falcons got on the board first on the first of two goals for Nicklas Millhorn (Brownstown, MI). He gave Fitchburg the 1-0 lead 9:54 into the first period.

- The Panthers would knot it back up, 8:41 onto the second on a power play goal by Will Pray. Plymouth would grab the lead just under two minutes later on a goal by Dante Moretti.  

- The 2-1 score held true until the final three minutes of the third period. At 17:38 in, Millhorn struck again to tie it up at 2-2. Jack Johansen (Milford, NH) and Samuel Rennick (Salisbury, MA) assisted both goals this evening for the Falcons. Fitchburg tender Frederick Soderberg (Harrison Township, MI) would keep the game tied with numerous saves, forcing overtime.

- OT only took 1:39 of three on three after Pray found the back of the net again for his second of the contest.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Soderberg faced an impressive 43 shots on net, saving 40.

-  Panther tender Brandon Shantz saw only 29 shots, saving 27 of them.

-  Power Plays: Plymouth 2-for-4, Fitchburg 0-for-6.
