Ice Hockey Stuns 16th Ranked Panthers In MASCAC Tilt

Fitchburg, Mass. The Fitchburg State ice hockey team earned a 2-1 victory over the Panthers of Plymouth State this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action from the Wallace Civic Center.

How It Happened
Following a scoreless first period of play, Fitchburg State grabbed the lead midway through the middle frame as sophomore Nicklas Millhorn (Brownstown, MI) settled a feed from senior Samuel Rennick (Salisbury, MA) and junior Jeremy Maillet (Leominster, MA) and deposited a shot inside the near post for his ninth tally on the season for the 1-0 edge.
In the final period of play, Plymouth State knotted the score at 1-1 8:12 into the stanza with sophomore William Pray (Prague. Czech Republic) finding the back of the net for his seventh marker of the 2024-25 campaign as senior Ethan Stuckless (Conception Bay, NF) and sophomore Severi Sulonen (Turku, Finland) assisted on the play.
The Falcons quickly regained the advantage though when sophomore Elowan Orme Lynch (Courbevoie, France) redirected a shot off the stick of senior Christian Halbig (Queenstown, MD) into the upper left corner for his sixth score of the year, resulting in the 2-1 final
