Men's Indoor Track Competes At Suffolk Relays
Bourassa and Monette qualify for MASCAC's in the weight throw & shotput
Boston, MA. – The Fitchburg State University men's outdoor track & field team returned to action today as they competed at the 2025 Suffolk Relays at the New Balance Track.

Junior Liam Bourassa (Shirley, MA) led the way for the Green and Gold, placing 19th in the weight throw with a toss of 14.00 meters and 13th in shot put (13.38M) to qualify for the MASCAC;s in both events while Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) finished 16th overall in the weight throw with a throw of 14.23 meters and 15th in the shot put (12.77M) to also qualify for the MASCAC's in both events.
In the 60 meter, freshman Jaiden Madden (Lynn, MA) (91st), sophomore Derrick Tawiah (Worcester, MA) (78th) and newcomer Logan Cashman (Carmel, NY) (97th) turned in times of 7.50, 7.73 and 8.46 seconds respectively, while in the 60 meter hurdles, freshman William McGurl (Billerica, MA) (10.29) and classmate Joseph Imbracsio (North Billerica, MA) (10.56) finished 31st and 32nd respectively with McGurl qualifying for the MASCAC's in the event.
In the mile, freshman Samuel Edwards (Townsend, MA) (4:44.12) (MASCAC qualifying), classmate Brendan Guenard (Andover,MA) (5:16.46), senior Joshua Leaffer (North Andover, MA) (5:34.90) and senior Aidan Cattelan (West Hartford, CT) (5:43,13) placed 62nd, 91st, 96th and 97th, while junior Brady Madigan (Ayer, MA) turned in a 46th place finish in the 400 meter with a post-season qualifying time of 57.20 seconds.
Edwards and sophomore Omar Elmi (Worcester, MA) placed 21st and 27th in the 800 meter with post-season qualifying times of 2:08.17 and 2:13.73, while in the 1000 meter Guenard (2:53.81) (MASCAC qualifier) and sophomore Matthew Gill (Ayer, MA) (3:00.69) finished 47th and 51st overall.
In the 200 meter, Madden (59th), Tawiah (68th), Cashman (92nd) and sophomore Matthew Feole (Derry, NH) (95th) posted times of 24.44, 24.80, 27.27 and 29.33 seconds respectively.
Rounding out the top Falcons finishers on the day were freshman Christopher Adamchek (Carlisle, MA), who placed eighth overall in the long jump with a MASCAC qualifying mark of 6.45 meters, while in the 3000 meter, junior Michael Burns (Worcester, MA) (10:01.75) (MASCAC qualifier), graduate student Cameron Davis (Gardner, MA) (10:07.57) and senior Casey LaCombe (South Hadley, MA) (11:06.85) finished 47th, 52nd and 61st respectively.
