Men's Indoor Track Shines At Wesleyan Indoor Invitational

Middletown, CT. – The Fitchburg State University men’s indoor track & field team competed at the 2025 Wesleyan Indoor Invitational today at the Bacon Field House.

Middletown, CT. – The Fitchburg State University men's indoor track & field team competed at the 2025 Wesleyan Indoor Invitational today at the Bacon Field House.

Junior Liam Bourassa (Shirley, MA) paced the Green and Gold, placing first in the weight throw with an All-NE qualifying toss of 16.32 meters and fifth in shot put with a DIII NE qualifying throw of 13.48 meters, while Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) placed third in the weight throw with a DIII NE qualifying toss of 15.48 meters and seventh in the shot put with a MASCAC qualifying throw of 12.72 meters.

Freshman Christopher Adamchek (Carlisle, MA) was also solid for the Falcons, taking top honors in the long jump with a DIII New England qualifying mark of 6.71 meters as well as finishing 15th in the triple jump with a mark of 11.25 meters

In the 60 meter hurdles freshman Patrick Shaughnessy (Plymouth, MA) (9.07) (MASCAC qualifier), classmate William McGurl (Billerica, MA) (9.88) (MASCAC qualifier) and newcomer Joseph Imbracsio (North Billerica, MA) (10.85) placed second, sixth and tenth, while

In the 60 meter, freshman Jaiden Madden (Lynn, MA) (18th), sophomore Derrick Tawiah (Worcester, MA) (25th), sophomore Matthew Feole (Derry, NH) (41st) and newcomer Logan Cashman) (42nd) turned in times of 7.50, 7.65, 8.29, and 8.34 seconds respectively.

In the mile, freshman Samuel Edwards (Townsend, MA) (4:42.54) (MASCAC qualifier), junior Michael Burns (Worcester, MA) (5:00.27) and senior Joshua Leaffer (North Andover, MA) (5:36.44) finished third, 14th and 22nd, while Tawiah added an eighth place, post-season qualifying time of 56.54 seconds.

Senior Taban Manyok (Lynn, MA) (first), Edwards (third), junior Brady Madigan (Ayer, MA) (fourth) and sophomore Omar Elmi (Worcester, MA) (sixth) posted post-season qualifying times of 2:01.14,2:08.88, 2:10.25 and 2:10.39 in the 800 meter, while in the 1000 meter, senior Aidan Cattelan (West Hartford, CT) (2:57.54) (MASCAC qualifier), Burns (2:59.71), sophomore Joshua Lancaster (Holden, MA) (3:00.66) and senior Casey LaCombe (South Hadley, MA) (3:01.24) placed sixth, eighth, tenth and 11th respectively.

In the 200 meter, sophomore Madden (15th), Shaughnessy (31st, McGurl, Cashman, Feole and sophomore Marckenson Charles (Lowell, MA) turned in times of 24.88, 26.36, 27.27, 28.49 and 29.38 seconds, while in the 3000 meter, graduate student Cameron Davis (Gardner, MA) finished third overall with a MASCAC qualifying time of 9:59.09.

In the field, sophomore John Koutsouoa (Birdsboro, PA) finished 28th overall in the weight throw with a toss of 9.21 meters, while Koutsouoa added a 23rd place throw of 10.38 meters in the shot put. In the long jump, sophomore Keenan Ansah (Plymouth, MA) placed tenth overall with a post-season qualifying mark of 6.11 meters.

Rounding out the top Falcons finishers on the day were the 4x800 meter relay team of Burns, Elmi, Manyok and freshman Brendan Guenard (Andover, MA) with a ninth-place time of 9:51.13, while the 4x400 meter relay team of sophomore Matth Telson (Everett, MA), Charles, Elmi and Tawiah placed eighth overall with a time of 3:54.18.
