Worcester, Mass. native notches fifth weekly accolade of the season

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior Eric Shimiyimana (Worcester. Mass.) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

The fourth-year Falcon earned fifth weekly accolade of the year after earning All-New England honors with a seventh place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 13.68 meters on Friday before taking top honors in the triple jump with a DIII NE qualifying mark of 13.56 meters, while adding a first place effort of 6.44 meters in the long jump for the Green and Gold at the 2023 Panther Invitational on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State Men's Indoor Track and Field team returns to action on Saturday as they compete at the 2023 Westfield Invite, hosted by Smith College.
