Monette And Camara Named To USTFCCCA East All-Regional Team

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State Indoor Track junior Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) and senior Makany Camara (Lowell, MA) were recently named to the 2024 USTFCCCA NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field All-Region East Team as announced by the USTFCCCA on Tuesday.

Monette notches his first USTFCCCA honor in the weight throw after placing fifth overall in the event at the 2024 New England NEICAAA Championships on March 2nd with a personal best toss of 16.82 meters to earn All-NEICAAA honors, while adding a second place finish at the 2024 MASCAC Championships with a toss of 15.78 meters. In addition, Cameron finished seventh overall at the 2024 DIII New England Championships (16.46M).

Camara collects her third USTFCCCA accolade in the high jump after finishing third overall in the event at the 2024 DIII New England Championships with a season best mark of 1.66 meters on February 25th, while adding a second place mark of 1.66 meters at the 2024 MASCAC Championships. In addition, Makany placed fifth overall at the 2024 Tufts National Qualifying Meet earlier this year (1.64M).

The top five individuals in each event from each region on the year-end descending order list earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams.

The Falcons concluded their 2024 season on March 1st and 2nd as select members competed at the 2024 NEICAAA New England Championships and the 2024 Tufts National Qualifying Meet.
