Bourassa Selected MASCAC Field Athlete Of The Week
Shirley Mass. native collects third weekly accolade of the season
Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore Liam Bourassa (Shirley, Mass.) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
The second-year Falcon collected his third weekly honor of the year after taking top honors in the javelin with personal best and All-New England qualifying throw of 66.41 meters, while adding 12th place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 49.33 meters.
In addition, Liam finished 12th overall in the discus with a mark of 42.64 meters as well as placing 15th in the shotput with a toss of 42.64 meters for the Falcons at the 2024 DIII New England Championships, hosted by Mount Holyoke this past weekend. With a throw in the javelin, Bourassa currently ranks first in DIII in the event.
The Fitchburg State Men's Outdoor Track & Field team returns to action this weekend as select members compete at the 2024 All-New England Championships, hosted by Holy Cross.
